Delete messages on Pinterest
Pinterest is one of the most popular social media sites, allowing users to pin images to their virtual boards and follow other pinners’ boards, as well as people they want to keep up with in the real world.
Once you start following these people, they will occasionally send you Pinterest messages, letting you know when they add a new image or update an existing one on their pinboards that you follow.
However, if you don’t want to keep getting these messages, here’s how to delete them from your account.
What are messages?
It’s important to know what you’re getting into before deleting them. If you’re not sure what messages are, or how they work, then it could end up being a simple mistake if you accidentally delete them.
Since we mentioned that you can only make one pin at a time, there is also another way of adding pins. There is an option for sharing images with your friends and family over Pinterest!
How do I know if someone has sent me a message?
When you receive a new message, you’ll see an envelope icon appear next to that person’s name. In addition, when you click on someone’s profile, there will be a message icon next to their name.

What should I do with my pins?
When you create a new pin, it doesn’t appear on your profile. Instead, it gets stored on a board that you can then make public or keep private.
It’s often useful to make boards before sharing them because if you later decide to make one board public and another private, your pins will all be moved over automatically.
Who can send me a message?
To prevent spam, you’ll have to check Who can send me a message? for each one of your boards. After you do, anyone will be able to post on your boards, but only people you follow can send you messages.
If someone doesn’t show up as an option under Who can send me a message? it means they haven’t verified their account yet. Once they do, they’ll be back!
Can I choose not to receive any more messages?
If you aren’t a fan of a particular message, or if it’s spam, you can block users so that they can no longer send you any correspondence. For instructions on how to do so, check out Block/Unblock People and Report Inappropriate Messages.
How to Hide Pinterest Messages
Hiding private pins keeps your secret interests under wraps and can help you avoid spam and fake friend invites. As of 2017, however, Facebook owns both Instagram and Pinterest.
To hide a pin from your public feed, hover over it and click on More Options > Pin Privacy > No One. If you choose Only Me, you will only see that pin when you log into your account.
Delete my account!
Luckily, if you want to completely erase your Pinterest profile from their servers, there’s a really easy way to do it. While logged into your account, go here and click Delete Account. It’s that simple!
